In recognition of the necessity for educational development within Abuja and the need to inculcate in our children sound doctrine, the right moral and spiritual values based on basic Christian ethics and Baptist doctrine, coupled with the current harsh economic condition in the country, the First Baptist Church, Garki, Abuja under the leadership of Rev. Israel Adelani Akanji, decided to establish Baptist High School for the attainment of high academic and moral discipline and to further the cause of evangelism through education in the Federal Capital Territory specifically and in the country at large
The school is the product of many years’ vision which was received by Rev. Dr. Israel Adelani Akanji, the Senior Reverend of the First Baptist Church, Garki, Abuja. The school started on 28th January, 2006. A Committee was set up in 2005 by the Senior Reverend of the Church. The term of reference for the Committee was to plan and work towards establishing a Secondary School. The Committee was headed by Dr. James Daniel who laid the foundation and started the school by conducting the entrance examination and interview for students, interviewed and employed staff for the school
